I am an apprentice (follower) of Jesus Christ and have experienced my own journey of brokenness and restoration. In the words of the Apostle Paul, when others are troubled, I find joy in giving them the same comfort God has given me (2 Cor. 1:3-4).

I grew up in a very conservative Christian family and what I would now describe as a legalistic church environment. I developed an addiction early in my life, but I never felt the freedom or safety to discuss it with anyone. I sincerely wanted to be a “good Christian,” and I became a missionary and minister, but I had this shadow side and felt like two different people were living inside me (Rom. 7:14-25).

Eventually, my addiction was discovered by others, and I lost my marriage, my ministry, my purpose, and even my will to live. But God simply wouldn’t give up on me, and through counseling and the love and help of other Christians, I came through the storm. I now use my story as a key to help unlock the prison of others.

I have a D.Min. in Pastoral Counseling. I am a Presidential Member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, a board-certified mental health coach & professional life coach, a trainer and facilitator of Prepare/Enrich, a SYMBIS facilitator, and a Celebrate Recovery Ministry Leader. I also serve as a senior minister in a local church and am the Executive Vice-President of New Horizons House (an after-care facility for girls rescued from sex trafficking https://newhorizonshouse.org ).

I am married and have two daughters, a stepson, and two grandsons. I currently reside in Naples, TX.
